One thing that I found disappointing, was that the firmware of the brand new card was on version 1. Bought my first Tascam Dm mixer and firewire card 5 years ago to use for shows. So with the card mkki and the drivers installed the Mac and the board recognized each other right away. My one comment would be if all of this was stated in a leaflet out lining getting started for those who are not computer techs I am a network tech. They always seem to have great prices and fast shipping on everything. See any errors on this page? It if-fw/dk to be what it was supposed to be: We know that it is an awesome product, but we are frustrated with the lack of vital information needed to make it work with the board.
Installing it was a breeze, and the mixer immediately recognized it.
It’s just the best combo on the market period. Though all said and done you would by this unit only if you had the know how on trouble shooting. You will need to understand the internal routing of the Tascam DM series, and on the Mac side you need to do some configuration in the Audio-Midi system preference window. Once that was out of the way I opened GarageBand for my first test and could see all 32 channels just fine. The physical installation was seemless. I used to have the MK1 card discontinued and now felt mkui was time to make the move to the mk2!

Sorry this became a Vent comment. Also, a firewire cable was included, which was a nice surprise. I feel confident this will become a very reliable product, if we are ever able to get it to work correctly. Something to think of, though, when ordering any firmware-needing hardware.
